Father Robert M. Garrity, JCL, STD, is Assistant Professor of Theology at Ave Maria University, where he assists the Campus Ministry Department and teaches courses in Scripture, Catechetics, Spirituality, and Canon Law. Ordained for the Diocese of Rockford in 1981, “Father Bob,” as he is known to many of his students, has published several articles in canon law in The Jurist and Studia Canonica, and is the author of O Happy Fault: Personal Recovery through Spiritual Growth. Prior to university ministry, he served as Pastor of St. Mary Church in Huntley, Illinois; and with the Marriage Tribunal and Respect Life ministry. He holds a doctorate in sacred theology and a license in canon law, both from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
