 Edward J. Ondrako portraitIn May 2021 Friar Ed celebrated his Golden Jubilee as a Franciscan Conventual priest of Our Lady of the Angels Province. During his seminarian studies he had studied under Fr. Peter Damian Fehlner. Fr. Ed defended his doctoral dissertation in the field of History of Christianity in May 2017, after which the University of Notre Dame awarded him a Ph.D. in Theology.

In addition, Fr. Ed holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Humanities/Humanistic Studies (Syracuse University), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), Humanities/Humanistic Studies (Syracuse University), Master of Arts (M.A.), Theology/Theological Studies (St. Bonaventure University), Master of Social Work (M.S.W., State University of New York at Albany), and a Master of Theology (St. Anthony of the Hudson Theological Seminary).

Fr. Ed, as editor, published The Newman-Scotus Reader in 2015 and reprised it in 2019 with a Newman canonization issue. In 2021, Fr. Ed published Rebuild My Church: Peter Damian Fehlner’s Appropriation and Development of the Ecclesiology and Mariology of Vatican II.
